On March 6, 2013 Mazie Jones Levenson passed away at Arbor Arcres in Winston-Salem, NC. Mazie, daughter of Dr. John Walter and Mattie Blackburn Jones, was instrumental in the donation and preservation of the Jones House Community Center as a historic and cultural Boone landmark. A memorial service celbrating her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday March 15, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church located at 410 N. Holden Road, Greensboro, NC where she was a charter member.
The Jones House is looking for artists to submit their work for participation in our 2014 galleries. All media welcome for consideration.
The Jones House invites artists to submit works that are relevant to the community. We are looking for art that teaches lessons, encourages growth, and embraces imagination.

The article cited the Summer Concert Series at the Jones House Community and Cultural Center and tuition-free classes at ASU as excellent reasons to settle in Boone.
